Russia's REMIX Innovative Nuclear Fuel Enters First Field Trials

The first field trials of a Russia-developed innovative REMIX (Regenerated Mixture) fuel has started at the country's Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), the facility's press service said Friday. REMIX fuel is produced from a non-separated mix of recycled uranium and plutonium by reprocessing used fuel with added enriched uranium which reduces fuel consumption.
