Finland plans 'massive' renewable energy boostHelsinki (AFP) April 20, 2010 Finland's government on Tuesday outlined a plan to massively boost renewable energy production to meet European Union requirements on slashing greenhouse gas emissions. "This addition of renewable energy is equivalent in scale to three big nuclear power plants," Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen said in comments broadcast by YLE. Paris (AFP) April 9, 2010France and Italy on Friday agreed to cooperate more closely to increase nuclear power generation and vowed to come to the aid of debt-laden Greece in order to defend the euro. Cherbourg, France (AFP) April 8, 2010A shipment of 15 tonnes of combustible MOX, a blend of plutonium and reprocessed uranium, left the French port of Cherbourg on Thursday for Japan, French nuclear group Areva said.
