Armenian nuclear plant advised to boost safety
Yerevan (AFP) June 2, 2011
International nuclear safety experts advised earthquake-prone Armenia on Thursday to increase safety measures at the country's Soviet-era reactor after the disaster in Japan. But the experts from the International Atomic Energy Authority's Operational Safety Team did not identify any "extraordinary" problems during their inspection of the reactor, which is located in a seismic zone that was hit by a massive quake in 1988.
