New nuclear power plant site in western Finland: company
Helsinki (AFP) Oct 5, 2011
Finnish power company Fennovoima announced Wednesday it would build the country's third nuclear power plant in the western town of Pyhaejoki. "Fennovoima has chosen Pyhaejoki as the site for its nuclear power plant," the company said in a statement, adding preparatory work there would not begin until the end of 2012 at the earliest. Fennovoima has asked nuclear contractors Areva of France and Japan's Toshiba for bids to build the plant and said it will choose the contractor in 2012 or 2013. ... read more
