Framatome and Naval Group, two prominent entities in the nuclear energy and naval defense sectors, have officially announced the completion of their acquisition of Jeumont Electric, previously a part of the Altawest group. This strategic move is set to consolidate Framatome and Naval Group's activities in their respective fields, reinforcing Jeumont Electric's standing as a global benchmark in the industry. Jeumont Electric, known for its specialization in the manufacture and maintenance of motors and electrical equipment, plays a critical role in both the nuclear energy and naval defense sectors. Its expertise and proprietary technologies in these areas have established it as a key supplier and service provider to major global groups, including shipyards, nuclear operators, and leading manufacturers.

Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome, emphasized the significance of this acquisition: "Jeumont Electric is a strategic supplier to the nuclear industry and has recognized expertise in the manufacture and maintenance of motors and equipment for the energy and defense sectors. This acquisition secures our supply chain and is a response to sovereignty issues," he stated. Fontana also highlighted the synergy between the existing Framatome site in Jeumont and the Jeumont Electric site, noting their shared history and the industrial complementarities that their proximity will foster.

The acquisition is seen as a crucial step in ensuring a secure supply chain for Framatome, a company with a longstanding reputation in nuclear reactor design, services, and provision of components and fuel for nuclear power plants. The integration of Jeumont Electric into Framatome's operations is expected to enhance the latter's capabilities in these areas significantly.

On the other hand, Naval Group, a leader in naval defense known for its expertise in the design, production, and maintenance of submarines and surface ships, views this acquisition as pivotal for its naval programs. Pierre Eric Pommellet, Chairman and CEO of Naval Group, remarked on the importance of Jeumont Electric's skills and know-how: "The implementation of our naval programs, and in particular propulsion equipment, requires highly qualified teams and unique know-how. It is with this objective in mind that we wish to perpetuate the exceptional skills of Jeumont Electric as a global reference in its field, serving notably the French defense industry."

This acquisition not only enhances the capabilities of Framatome and Naval Group but also ensures the preservation and advancement of Jeumont Electric's specialized skills and technologies. The integration of Jeumont Electric into these larger entities is expected to create a robust platform for growth and innovation in the nuclear energy and naval defense sectors.

The acquisition of Jeumont Electric by Framatome and Naval Group marks a significant development in the nuclear energy and naval defense industries. It represents a strategic effort to secure and enhance the supply chain and technical expertise in these critical sectors, ensuring that Jeumont Electric continues to serve as a global reference in its field.
