The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Technical Consumer Products, Inc. (TCP), a leader in energy-efficient lighting innovations, as a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. TCP's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29.

TCP, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2001, is honored for leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.

In 2013, TCP pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 3.6 million pounds, and through the company's ongoing commitment to the program, exceeded its original goal by 755 percent. For the past year, TCP has made concentrated efforts to improve the efficiency of its LED lighting products, including its Wi-Fi-enabled smart lighting kit, and will continue to expand its line of energy-efficient lighting products.

"We recognize the growing customer demand for products that are both energy efficient and affordable," said Ellis Yan, Chief Executive Officer of TCP.

"Our partnership with ENERGY STAR allows us to continually provide high-quality and high-performance lighting products that save our customers money through energy conservation, while also protecting the environment."

Through 2013, with help from ENERGY STAR, American families and businesses have saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

The 2014 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through superior energy efficiency. Award winners are selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.

"TCP is helping consumers save money and reduce harmful carbon pollution by producing energy-efficient ENERGY STAR products," said EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe.

"This outstanding effort in product manufacturing demonstrates a commitment to reducing our nation's greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change."
