Framatome, an international leader in the nuclear energy market, signed a cooperation agreement with Warsaw University of Technology to establish training and development programs for future nuclear energy industry professionals.

In a signing ceremony held 30 July 2019, Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome, and Professor Jan Szmidt, rector of Warsaw University of Technology, were joined by members of the French embassy and university prominent professors to confirm their cooperation in the field of teaching and industrial development.

"At Framatome, we are helping to build the future nuclear energy workforce by supporting educational programs that focus on science, technology, engineering and math in Europe and around the world," said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome.

"We know that today's students are not only our future workforce, but they will be clean energy advocates who will solve tomorrow's energy challenges. We are proud to work with Warsaw University of Technology to develop the next generation of nuclear energy professionals."

This agreement establishes a joint framework for training nuclear energy professionals and implementing scientific projects. As a part of this work, Framatome will offer diploma internships that provide hands-on training and development for students in the Nuclear Power Engineering specialty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics Faculty at Warsaw University of Technology.

The partners will also organize specialized scientific lectures related to nuclear technology for a wider audience, including students from other universities, research institutions and the general public.

This cooperation agreement builds on Framatome's long collaborative tradition with the Polish scientific community, especially in research and nuclear education.
