In a significant stride towards advancing cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, GMV has garnered support from the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) to kickstart the Luis Valle R and D+i Program. This initiative underscores two pivotal projects: the crafting of a self-sovereign digital identity solution and the establishment of a Cybersecurity Operations Center (SOC) specifically tailored for the space sector.

At the heart of these endeavors is the empowerment of individuals in managing their digital identities, ensuring they have the autonomy to decide on the dissemination of their personal data online. This initiative is a leap towards enhancing digital self-governance and privacy in the internet realm.

Parallelly, the SOC development for the space industry emerges as a critical measure to safeguard satellite networks, integral to national security and operational functionality. The program aims to preclude potential cyber incidents that could lead to widespread socioeconomic and security ramifications.

The Luis Valle Program, buoyed by a public funding injection of euro 224 million from the IECPI, stands as the world's most well-funded cybersecurity project. Its objectives are multifaceted, encompassing national policy development, entrepreneurship stimulation, capability enhancement, and talent cultivation within the cybersecurity domain.

Hector Estrada, the director of INCIBE's Transportation and Space sectors, highlighted the strategic significance of innovative public procurement in fostering innovation within Spain's industrial segment. He underscored INCIBE's mission to propel Spain into the global top five in cybersecurity, focusing on innovation, products, professionals, and services.

Juan Jesus Leon and David Alvarez from GMV delved into the technical intricacies of developing a self-sovereign identity solution. They emphasized the shift towards user-centric digital identity management, leveraging blockchain technology and identity-based cryptography (IBC) to pioneer a new paradigm in online security and privacy.

Julio Vivero, representing GMV's Secure e-Solutions international sector, elaborated on the importance of the SOC project for the space industry. He outlined the pivotal role of satellites in communications, Earth observation, navigation, and national security, stressing the imperative to mitigate cyber threats to maintain operational integrity and national security.

Through the Luis Valle Program, GMV is poised to address critical cybersecurity challenges, from enhancing traceability and security within satellite control centers to developing specialized monitoring tools and incident response teams.
