Wellington (AFP) May 20, 2011 Huge waves swamped dozens of hotel rooms and damaged sea walls at tourist resorts in Fiji on Friday but there were no reports of casualties, police said. The waves hit the Coral Coast, Fiji's main tourist destination, on Friday morning, dumping logs and debris, police said. They said some tourists at the Tambua Sands resort had to move to higher ground after water entered their rooms and 30 rooms were swamped at the Shangri-La resort. Police warned motorists in the area to drive cautiously, while the Fiji Meteorological Service said there was a risk of more heavy swell later Friday as a low pressure trough moved across the Pacific nation.
