A third delivery order for Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainers systems has been received by Meggitt Training Systems from the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command.

The contract is worth $5.8 million and brings the total value of orders so far placed by the Marines for the system to $25 million.

"The continued success of the ISMT program is a testament to the invaluable partnership established between Meggitt and the US Marine Corps," said Ronald Vadas, president of Meggitt Training Systems.

"Our partnership and commitment is a further testament of the value we offer defense forces in the U.S. and around the world."

Meggitt's ISMT system provides realistic, state-of-the-art virtual small arms training for marksmanship, collective and judgmental scenarios. The latest award will provide another 166 ISMT small arms training systems and additional authoring stations.

"The ISMT system is designed to be extremely user-friendly," said Kathleen Wilson, ISMT program manager with Meggitt Training Systems. "We've incorporated automatic coaching features, providing immediate feedback to the instructor on the Marine's performance. This provides coaching opportunities in real-time to correct marksmanship skills, and allows for extra training as necessary."

The ISMT contract received by Meggitt provides for system and weapon simulator development, as well as the installation and support of more than 670 systems at US Marine Corps facilities in the United States and abroad.
