A new center for development of advanced cyber technologies has been opened in Britain by Northrop Grumman Corporation.

The Northrop Grumman Cyber Center is located in Gloucestershire and is focusing on developing capabilities in big data and smart data analytics, network defense, secure mobility, biometrics, high-speed processing and full spectrum cyber in a collaborative environment.

"We are committed to continuing to build a sovereign U.K. cyber workforce that is able to deliver innovations to help protect our customers against the increasingly sophisticated cyber-threat environment," said Kathy Warden, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Information Systems. "We look forward to expanding our presence in the cyber domain and furthering our partnerships across the U.K. as we collectively work to ensure a more connected and secure world."

"It will enable industry, customers, partners and academia to collaborate in one location to help solve some of the challenges of today's complex and highly dynamic threat environment."

Northrop Grumman was recently selected by the British government to join a number of companies providing it with cyber-security solutions. Under the competitively awarded framework contract, Northrop Grumman will provide engineering and development services in support of data security and information assurance.
