Russia has delivered R-312AT helicopter radio systems to the Peru Ministry of Defense as part of an offset deal connected to the purchase of Mi-171Sh aircraft.

The delivery was made by Russian state intermediary JSC Rosoboronexport, part of the Rostec State Corporation, and is expected to save Peru more than $12.5 million.

Peru in 2015 signed a contract for the supply of 24 Mi-171Sh helicopters from Russia.

Rosoboronexport said Russia is ready to allocate $1 million in funding to build a helicopter training center for Peru if eight offset projects agreed to are implemented.

The R-312ATs radios are equipped with GPS receivers and are compatible with other radio systems used in the Peruvian Armed Forces, including British-made Selex SSR-400 radios.
