Ankara (AFP) Feb 25, 2012

Eight people were missing on Saturday after a hatch inside a dam burst in southern Turkey and caused flooding, reported the Anatolia news agency.

Rescue teams found the bodies of two workers early Saturday and were searching for eight others, it said.

The hatch inside the dam over the Goksu river near the Kozan town in the Adana province burst Friday, causing 90 million cubic meters of water to pour into the river, daily Hurriyet reported.

Two workers were rescued alive and taken to hospital, it said.
