Saab of Sweden reports it has signed an agreement with IBD Deisenroth Engineering of Germany to cooperate in the development of vehicle survivability systems.

The advanced survivability systems would be for sea and air vehicles as well as for land vehicles, it said.

"The cooperation with IBD will give our companies a possibility to provide effective survivability solutions and it will give the possibility to provide new high-tech solutions," said Gorgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamic business area.

"The worldwide presence of our cooperation partner Saab will allow IBD a much better access to international markets for the new advanced technologies", added Ulf Deisenroth, president of IBD.

IBD develops and manufactures passive and active protection systems for military platforms, including modular armor systems.

Saab, in announcing the agreement with IBD, provided no information on specifics of future systems the companies may have in mind or other details of the deal.
