CONCERN TITAN-2 JSC, contractor for building and supply of equipment for Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction, has signed a contract with Framatome-Siemens, the French-German consortium, to supply Main Instrumentation and Control (I&C).

The signature followed a competitive procedure with the participation of international companies that are market leaders in the field of integrated I&C solutions at nuclear facilities.

Technical management and integration of I&C-related works within Hanhikivi-1 project will be executed by Rusatom Automated Control Systems JSC (RASU JSC), a subsidiary and integrator of ROSATOM State Corporation in the field of I&C.

The contract was signed in Moscow within Russian Energy Week in the presence of Kirill Komarov, ROSATOM First Deputy Director General for Corporate Development and International Business, as well as Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome, and Willi Meixner, CEO Power Generation Operations, Siemens AG.

The Framatome technical solutions are used in the project design of LAES-2 - reference NPP for Hanhikivi-1. The primary task within the framework of the signed contract will be to ensure the development of documentation necessary for project licensing.

About the project
The Hanhikivi-1 project includes the construction of a single-unit NPP featuring a modern Russian-designed VVER-1200 Generation III+ reactor with a capacity of 1200 MW.

The Finnish project company Fennovoima Oy is the customer, owner and operator of the future NPP. The general supplier, according to the EPC contract (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) signed with Fennovoima Oy in December 2013, is RAOS Project Oy, a subsidiary of REIN JSC (part of Rosatom State Corporation).

Under the EPC contract, the Russian party shall supply a licensed, functional and operational NPP on a turnkey basis.
