Technical problem delays US shuttle launch 48 hours

by Staff Writers
Cape Canaveral, Florida (AFP) April 29, 2011
The launch of the space shuttle Endeavour was delayed Friday by at least 48 hours due to a technical failure that arose about three hours before the planned takeoff, NASA said.

"Endeavour's launch has been scrubbed for at least 48 hours because of an issue with Auxiliary Power Unit 1 heaters," the US space agency said.

Engineers were still working to figure out what caused the problem.
