Tecta Solar recently completed the installation of a 346-kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system for a national home improvement retailer in Quincy, Mass. The project, located on the rooftop of the newly completed store, is projected to generate 440 MWh of energy in the first year.

The solar professionals at Tecta Solar provided a full-service solution and managed the project from start to finish. Services included development, design engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the roof mounted project. The ballasted crystalline system features 1,540 modules at a 10-degree tilt.

"We are proud that a Fortune 100 company trusted Tecta to provide its solar solution and look forward to continuing our relationship," says Ken Beiser, Managing Director of Tecta Solar.

Tecta Solar registered the project with the Massachusetts Solar Carve-Out program so that it will generate Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC) and place a forward SREC contract on behalf of the customer. An estimated 240 metric tons of CO2 emissions will be avoided each year as a result of the solar energy produced by the system.

"Tecta Solar has installed over 10 percent of the Solar Carve-Out registered commercial systems in operation in Massachusetts, and we will have completed installation on an additional 4 MWp by the end of the year," says Brett Chapman, General Manager of Tecta Solar's New England operations.
