Kabul (AFP) Nov 15, 2010 Two foreign soldiers have been killed fighting Taliban-linked insurgents in Afghanistan, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said Monday. ISAF had announced the deaths of five soldiers on Sunday. On Monday the force said "two additional" troopers had died the same day. A total of 643 foreign service personnel have now been killed in Afghanistan this year, according to an AFP count based on the independent icasualties.org website, which tracks coalition fatalities and injuries. That compares with 521 killed in 2009 in what was previously the deadliest year on record for foreign forces in Afghanistan. There are more than 150,000 foreign troops deployed in Afghanistan to support the Western-backed government of President Hamid Karzai and fight an increasing Taliban-led insurgency that has stretched across the country.
