U.S. Marines with Transportation Services, Combat Logistics Battalion 2 conducted a live-fire exercise using their vehicle recovery team.

The exercise was part of Integrated Training Exercises, which aims to train warfighters to perform recovery operations while also providing security in all directions. During the exercise, the 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion set up a 360 degree cordon, allowing the recovery team more maneuverability while recovering a downed vehicle.

"These missions go back to our legacy mission skillsets of route security, route reconnaissance and overall area security," 1st Lt. Noah Tobias platoon commander for 1st Platoon, Charlie Company said of the exercise. "This training allows us to go out and let the wreckers do their job while we provide security."

Cpl. Nathan Clifford, a vehicle recovery operator, concurred with Tobias, saying his team benefited from the exercise, designed to improve their recovery operation capabilities.

"I think it's great out here," he said. "Already, we've learned a vast amount of knowledge and a variety of recovery methods."
