To date PowerWind has installed 80 turbines in Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and the United States.

The Indian wind turbine manufacturer PowerWind has placed an order of certification with TUV Rheinland. The purpose is the type certification of a 2.5 megawatt turbine which will be distributed throughout the world.

"With this order of certification for a globally active manufacturer, we underpin our competence and performance as certifiers in the wind energy industry," says Frank Witte, Global Business Development Manager for Wind Energy at TUV Rheinland.

PowerWind GmbH is a service provider and manufacturer of onshore wind turbines founded in 2007. The company uses German-manufactured components and is currently producing wind turbines in the power range from 500 kW to 2.5 MW.

To date PowerWind has installed 80 turbines in Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and the United States. Recently PowerWind has opened sales offices in England and Romania and therefore reinforcing their clear expansion into international markets.

TUV Rheinland offers a comprehensive range of services for manufacturers, operators, investors and insurers in the wind energy industry. The company supports customers worldwide with expert reports and measurements and conducts risk and damage analysis as well as certification of wind turbines and wind energy projects.

TUV Rheinland is an accredited certification body by the German Accreditation Body (DakkS) for type and component certifications of onshore and offshore wind turbines according to national and international standards.

The company offers complex services, such as site assessment and soil examination, but also manufacturing surveillance, coordination of statics and structural analysis as well as quality control and construction supervision.

In addition, TUV Rheinland performs acceptance and periodic inspections as well as regulatory inspections of wind turbines. The company supports the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines and transformer platforms with marine warranty survey services. The principle of neutral monitoring is also successfully applied by the company in the quality assurance of global supply chains.
