World currently has enough uranium for 100 years: study
Vienna (AFP) July 20, 2010
The world's total identified resources of uranium, used in the production of nuclear energy, are currently sufficient for over 100 years of supply, a new study showed on Tuesday. But with the use of advanced nuclear reactors and fuel cycles, supply could be extended to "thousands of years", according to a study published by the OECD's Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Saudi agrees on nuclear energy pact with France
Riyadh (AFP) July 5, 2010
The Saudi cabinet agreed on Monday to sign a nuclear cooperation accord with France, which could open the way for French help in developing nuclear power in the oil-rich kingdom. The agreement is "for the development of peaceful uses of nuclear energy," the cabinet announced after its weekly meeting in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
